A lick of paint, lots of people

The P50 was the first mass-produced Trabant model of which 130,000 thousand had been sold between 1957 and 1963. Today it is a rare sight. But then why has one been painted like this?
The Hajdúsági Nemzetközi Művésztelep artists’ colony celebrated its 50th birthday recently, and on the occasion of hitting the half-century mark a member of the oldtimer club of Hajdúböszörmény has given the colony a 50 year-old Trabant as a present. With the aim of bringing art a step closer to everyday life, the artists decided to turn the car into a piece of art on wheels and have painted it in vivid colours with the help of kids and passers-by. The finished artwork can be expected to show up in different parts of Hajdúböszörmény during the summer.
