Sipi is a fairy who hangs above us like a huge, ever-smiling, men’s fragrance-smelling umbrella. He can be called anytime, anywhere to lend a helping hand, and he’ll be there in an hour with one of his Transits for sure. A dangerously maniac car collector (the street in front of his house is full of his vehicles), a radio-control and model car freak, Sipos is a Swiss knife made of human flesh. Totalcar is just one job amongst his zillion occupations, but he endears it the most. Lives with a girlfriend and two dogs.

Totalcar Magazine and Funzine proudly present the drive-in movie experience for foreigners! Jump into your car and join us on Friday!

Shed all superstitions and save the date, because on Friday the 13th this September, Brad Pitt and his band of Inglourious Basterds will talk and kill their way through Nazi Germany to blow up Hitler in Quentin Tarantino's 2009 movie. Totalcar and FUNZINE presents: Inglorious Basterds.

At this event, organized by the Totalcar Magazine, Fővárosi Autósmozi and FUNZINE Media trio, you can lay back in your car seat and enjoy what millions of people were doing back in the olden days, the days before cinema palaces and multiplex movie theatres.

Sitting and enjoying a movie at a drive-in in the safety of your car is a heavenly joy all by itself, and you'll surely feel nostalgic thinking back to the simple times of American teenage love stories of the 1950s. But doing this while there's intense dialogue and action scenes happening on the screen, and Brad Pitt trying to sound as Italian as he can possibly sound - that's a joy of a different, happier and better world.

The screening will take place in Central Europe's biggest car market, in District 19. This is the only drive-in cinema of the capital, and it's been operating with smaller bumps and larger hiatuses since 1992.

Gates open at 7.30 pm and the English-language and English subtitled screening starts at 9 pm.

To top all that, we invited two war veterans to the show: an American Willys Jeep and a German Kübelwagen will be displayed on the scene. This will be quite an experience to see these tho wartime legends next to each other.

Tin Lizzie’s uptown cousin

In 1927 one of Ford’s ads run like this: “Everything you want or need in A Modern Automobile”, which means that we got weak and soft by now. We’ve got to face it: not only were those Fords tough back in the day. So were our great-grandfathers.
