Making a fool out of policemen
Failing to capture thugs drifting in the snow
Some drivers have a habit of drifting in the snow in derelict car parks as soon as the snow comes down. Snow, which is a rare treat in some countries, is a fact of life in certain areas of Russia, often lasting for about half a year. The authorities seem to have the same attitude towards the dangerous pastime the world over, though, as it can cause a hell of a lot of damage.
Winter in Yoshkar-Ola, the capital city of the Mari Republic is seemingly endless and particularly harsh with temperatures often falling under -30 °C. No wonder that snow drifting is a national sport over there. Strangely, the policemen in this video are still out of their league chasing the delinquents. Maybe the police car didn’t have proper tyres, we don’t know about that, but the attempt to capture the drifters flopped after the driver of a drifting FWD decided to circle around the police car a number of times, humiliating the cops.
Situations like these should be addressed at the police academy - and this video should definitely be played in the how not to try to handle the situation section of the lecture. Jotting down the number plates and interrogating the audience surely would’ve been more helpful?
